 Momentum Children's Charity

We're excited to announce our chosen Charity to support this October, and we hope you'll join us in helping Momentum to support local families whose children are facing cancer or a life-challenging condition.

About Momentum

And the incredible work they do

Momentum Children’s Charity supports children with cancer and life-challenging conditions, and their families.

We partner with local hospitals across Surrey, Sussex and London to offer personally tailored support through our family support workers, both in hospital and at home. Our services include counselling, creative therapies, special experiences, and respite breaks. If the unthinkable happens, and a child dies, we offer specialist bereavement support.

When a child is very unwell, the impact often goes far beyond the effect on their own physical health - it can devastate families, disrupt children’s education, limit social activities and change their whole way of life. On top of this there is added pressure on household finances at a time when there is already a cost-of-living crisis.

Families that we support tell us that dealing with these many challenges has a severe impact on their own, and their children’s, emotional and mental wellbeing. Momentum Children’s Charity provides support to address these issues, and ensure no family has to cope alone.

Bianca Effemey OBE, Founder and CEO at Momentum Children’s Charity said:

“We are thrilled to be chosen as the Charity of the Month for Crafty Pots Café. As part of the partnership, they have kindly donated their café space in Walton-on-Thames so we can offer pottery painting sessions to some of the families we support through our bereavement service, Echoes.

On top of this, they will be telling their customers about how we support families in their local community, and anyone visiting the café during October will be encouraged to make a donation to Momentum. We work alongside a number of hospitals across Surrey, including St Peter’s Hospital, and every penny raised from this partnership will help us support families who have a child with cancer or another life-challenging condition.”

Here at Crafty Pots, we can't think of a more worthy cause and we're delighted to show our support for Momentum and the families it helps. We hope you can join us, by donating to Momentum and learning more about what they do - info below.
